Context
What happened?
At the time it was billed as the AFL–NFL World Championship Game; the Super Bowl name was applied to it retroactively. The Green Bay Packers beat the Kansas City Chiefs 35–10 in front of 61,946 spectators, well short of a full house.
Significance
Why it matters
It remains the only Super Bowl simulcast by two American networks, because CBS and NBC each held rights to one league. Both wiped their tapes afterwards to save money, so no complete broadcast recording of the game survives.
