Read the event
You get a visual, a title and just enough context to understand what you are placing — without giving the date away.
Find the era
Click the timeline, zoom, and move earlier or later. Deep-time events and modern events live on the same logarithmic canvas.
Lock your guess
Land inside the accepted range and you score a full 1000. Outside it, the score falls away smoothly with distance rather than in steps: half marks at roughly 8% of the event’s age, and never tighter than five years for recent events. A closer guess always scores better than a further one.
Keep going
There is no daily cap in Endless mode. Change your category mix at any time from your player menu.
Four Points
Four Points is a quicker timeline challenge. Each event comes with four unlabelled positions, A through D. Choose a position and lock it in; only then are the four dates revealed. A correct answer earns 1000 points plus a modest streak bonus.
Today's Daily Mix
Daily Mix gives every player the same ten events in the same order for the UTC day. You have one official attempt in this browser, can close the page and resume later, and can replay for practice after finishing without changing your official score or Daily streak.
Playing together
In Live Party, one host creates a private room and shares its code, link or QR code. Everyone places the same event independently. When all active players answer—or the timer ends—the date is revealed. The host controls when the round leaderboard appears and when the next question begins.
Challenging friends
Challenge freezes one question sequence so friends can play it hours or days apart. Share the private link or QR code as soon as the challenge is created, complete your own attempt, and compare official first-attempt scores on the final leaderboard.
